Teacher/Professional - District Office - Specialist
PRIMARY PURPOSE The Toddler Time Teacher will provide leadership in the Title I Toddler Time Program with the appropriate curriculum and activities while providing educational opportunities for families of Title I students by supporting their engagement in the education of their children.
Training in Early Childhood Education and/or teacher certification.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Three years of experience working with preschool children.
Knowledge of Early Childhood assessment methods.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with children, adults, staff and the community.
Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to organize, manage time and prioritize duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Provide support for the AISD Title I Engagement programs on all Title I campuses, including support for Family Engagement Liaisons and Family Engagement Teams.
Provide family programs at all Title I Campuses as directed by the Parent and Community Engagement Department (PACE), which would include occasional evening and weekend meetings.
Organize and plan the Title I Toddler Time Program and implement an integrated program across all components with Title I Staff (FEL’s) and the parent.
Lead the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials to be used with birth to preschool age children.
Assist in identifying support service needs of children and work with staff in arranging for their needs to be met.
Assist in writing parent engagement curriculum, develop programs, handouts and Power-Point presentations for use by Family Engagement Liaisons.
Remain knowledgeable about parenting topics and current family engagement trends by attending a variety of training sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned Title I Family Engagement Specialist.
