Administrative - District Office - Human Resources
ROLE AND PURPOSE:
Responsible for development, oversight, and management of Compensation and Benefits systems. Primary point of contact with Teacher’s Retirement System of Texas (TRS) in medical plan offering, plan origination, and utilization of best practices for health care plan administration within the district. Maintain oversight and best practices for various systems within the department including FMLA administration. Primary point of contact with Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Compensation Analyst to make strategic recommendations to maintain competitive market pay. Oversight and primary stakeholder for wellness program and supporting vendor.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Emphasis in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology (preferred).
Master’s degree in a field related to Human Resources preferred.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
Five (5) years previous experience in a compensation and/or employee benefits required.
Two (2) years previous supervisory experience required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & CULTURE MANAGEMENT
Develop, oversee and manage district health care plan(s) (within the boundaries of TRS regulations if applicable) utilizing best practices to insure competitive cost and quality care.
Strategize with TASB on outcomes of AISD annual salary review to identify district priorities and initiatives to maintain a competitive market-based compensation system for all district employees.
Create a framework for responsiveness, accountability and creativity to meet employee benefit needs through the district’s benefits administration vendor.
Primary person responsible for creation of supporting marketing materials related to compensation and benefits.
Develop and execute on goals, strategies and priorities for the district wellness program.
Develop and execute on goals, strategies and priorities for the district recognition program.
Professional office environment, as well as professional representation of the District at external events related to development, training or networking on compensation, benefits, wellness and/or recognition.
Oversight and management of customer service standards for the Compensation and Benefits group.
Implement actions to drive continuous improvement to employee knowledge of compensation philosophy and practices. Monitor and drive continuous improvement to compensation systems, benefits systems and market based pay practices.
Develop and execute innovative methods pertaining to health care plan administration while keeping informed of employee healthcare preferences and needs.
ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
Manage district budget versus compensation program to incentivize employee performance within fiscal boundaries.
Manage direct staff and vendors effectively as related to the duties of this position. Set annual goals and measurements to gauge success.
Act as an effective senior HR leadership team member.
Maintain active liaisons with professional associations and other organizations related to this scope of responsibilities.
Regularly network with administrative and campus leaders to maintain an inclusive leadership style on roll-out of new programs and systems.

Content expert on knowledge of applicable strategies and procedures.
Continually develop analytical skills to utilize data for more effective strategies related to this scope of responsibilities.
Foster cross-training among direct reports and development of individual skill sets for the betterment of the individual, department and district.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
