Support/Hourly - Position - Clerk - District/Department
ROLE AND PURPOSE:
To assist the public with the Food & Nutrition Services information and to support the Maintenance Coordinator, Kitchen Managers and Administrative Staff with data management and maintenance work orders.
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
Special Knowledge/ Skills:
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with external and internal customers.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment, kitchen operations, and USDA Free/Reduced Meal Program preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
Must be detailed-oriented and produce accurate work.
Typing skills of 40 wpm minimum preferred.
Understanding and proficient use of office equipment required.
Bilingual, Spanish, preferred.
Two years school related or four years out of district secretarial and general office experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Receive incoming visitors/ communications and channels to appropriate personnel.
Prepares work orders from data submitted by phone and by campus for FNS and AISD Maintenance.
ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
Maintains and updates work order files.
Responsible for the management and distribution of keys for all kitchen facilities.
Assist with distributing and maintaining cafeteria supplies/forms for each campus.
Prepares print shop requests.
Receives and records all product samples as needed.
Organizes and copies the marketing data for all products and programs.
Supports the District and Food & Nutrition Services mission, goals and core values.
Frequent verbal interaction with fellow employees, teachers, and parents; must have a good rapport with students, staff, co-workers or parents.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Attend In-Service training and workshops whenever possible to learn new techniques and operations.
Assist all administrative staff with projects as needed.
Assist the Free/Reduced Meal Program personnel as needed.
Other projects as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator, Assistant Director or Director.
Must be alert to channel influx of incoming communications while greeting visitors to Food & Nutrition Services; must prioritize and complete assignments. The job is mentally demanding; numerous activities happening simultaneously; time pressure constraints.
