Teacher/Professional - District Office - Accountant
ROLE AND PURPOSE:
To maintain the accuracy of all AISD general ledger accounts and the resulting financial statements in accordance with generally accepted principles and TEA regulations. Perform specific duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
Minimum Education/Certification & Experience
B.B.A. in Accounting
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have a proficient understanding of governmental fund accounting, experience working in computerized accounting systems, and be proficient in the use of a personal computer, with emphasis in Microsoft Office applications.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Month-end general ledger closings
State Funding Formulas and Receipts
State/Local Grant management including revenue postings
Account code management
Building rental management
Enterprise Fund Accounting
Internal Service Fund Accounting
Title 1 Comparability monitoring and reporting
Maintenance of Effort monitoring and reporting
Travel Request management
Natural Gas Fund- Division Orders and mineral management billings
Bank transmissions- positive pay, voided checks, etc. (back up)
Accounts payable check runs (back up)
Provide accurate and timely answers to other District personnel who have questions or problems regarding general accounting issues.
Perform other projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
