Position Summary:

A substitute employee is to provide as closely as possible the same successful instructional and learning environment that would exist if the regularly appointed teacher were in attendance. The substitute teacher is responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the regularly appointed teacher for whom he/she is substituting. A substitute employee is one hired with the understanding that his/her association with a school district will be on a substitute basis as a result of the absence of a permanent or probationary employee.

NOTE: Complaints made by a school principal about a substitute teacher may result in the removal of the substitute from the Substitute List. Substitute employees are paid at a daily rate, determined by the school district. They are not eligible for insurance benefits, holiday pay and do not accrue vacation or sick leave during the period they are employed as substitutes.

Certified Sub $80.00 /day
Non-Certified Sub (Degree) $65.00 /day
Non-Certified Sub (HS/GED) $55.00 /day
Clerical Sub $58.95 / day
Pre-K Assistant Sub $62.88 /day
Teacher Assistant Sub $55.00 /day
